A flowering shrub native to East Asia, primarily found in China and Japan. It typically reaches 1 to 2 feet in height. The plant produces bright yellow, star-shaped flowers in late spring and early summer, with long, showy stamens. Several cultivars exist. Photographed in Bogotá, Colombia.
