Native to southern China it is now an ornamental in various regions across the globe​. Its blooms, ranging between 4 to 6 inches in diameter, open up white or pink in the morning and deepening to a dark pink in the evening. Received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. Photographed in the Valley of Cauca, Colombia.
