Heptapleurum arboricola
A bush native to Taiwan and Hainan in China that has naturalized in the tropics. Its flowers are small and hermaphroditic, ranging from yellow to green, and are produced in panicles. The plant bears inedible fruits that mature from orange to red-violet. The species has numerous cultivars, often with variegated leaves. This plant has received recognition through the 'Gold Capella' cultivar, awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. Photographed in Barranquilla, Colombia.
