Hemerocallis fulva (Day Lily)
Originating in China or Japan, it has since naturalized in many areas and the parent of many hybrids. The roots have a history of medicinal use and are also consumed as food. The tepals are likened to lettuce in taste, and can be a colorful addition to salads. Photographed in Bogotá, Colombia where it is very common.
