Guzmania 'Limones'

A cultivated ornamental bromeliad, Limones is grown for its contrasting foliage and colorful flowering display. The rosette has glossy leaves that are green above and reddish beneath. A prominent yellow-and-red inflorescence rises from the center, with bright bracts providing much of its lasting color. Mature plants develop a broad, compact rosette, and new growth arises as side shoots near the base. Its unusual two-tone display has made it a named selection in the nursery trade. Photographed in Florida.
