Garcinia macrophylla
Native from southern Mexico into tropical South America, this evergreen forest tree can reach about thirty-three to forty-nine feet tall. Male and female flowers occur on separate trees. Its densely branched crown becomes broadly rounded, while the roots spread near the surface. The fleshy pulp surrounding the seeds is eaten fresh. Photographed in Colombia.
