Gaillardia pulchella (Indian Blanketflower)
Native to the warm embrace of northern Mexico and the south-central United States. Its vibrant blooms endowed with a colorful tapestry of red, yellow, or a bicolor blend of the two. Thriving in full sun, drought tolerant with a modest height of 1 to 1.5 feet and a spread of 0.5 to 1 foot. Cultivated varieties abound. Photographed in Florida.
