Eryngium humboldtii

Native to Colombia and northwestern Venezuela, it is a perennial herb with leaves arranged in a basal rosette. The leaves have longitudinal grooves and spiny margins. Upright flowering stems carry dense, rounded heads of small cream-colored flowers, surrounded by bracts. It grows in Andean páramo grasslands and is common in dry places in Chingaza.
