This perennial grass-like plant traces its roots to North America, Europe, and Asia, thriving in wetland habitats such as marshes, swamps, and wet meadows. It’s also found in tropical and subtropical regions of the Americas, Africa, and Asia. Photographed in the department of Guarjira, Colombia.
