Large shrub native to the tropical regions from Florida and the Caribbean south to Argentina. Its popularity in gardens is due to its fragrant beautiful blue or violet flowers and attractive yellow berries. The plant has several cultivars. Photographed in Colombia, Panama, and Florida.
