Dahlia imperialis (Tree Dahlia)

Originates from Central America. It can grow up to 20 feet tall under optimal conditions. The plant has hollow stems and produces large, beautiful flowers, which can range in color from white, and lavender to pink. Prefers cooler, high-altitude regions.  Photographed in the central Andes mountain range of Colombia.
