Six petal Cuphea hyssopifolia pink flowers
Cuphea hyssopifolia (Mexican heather)

Originates from Mexico and parts of Central America. It is a small, densely branched evergreen shrub found in warm climate gardens worldwide, especially in warmer climates, due to its tolerance for heat and its ability to flourish in a variety of soil types. The small flowers bloom throughout the year in the right conditions. The flowers of the plant exhibit a range of colors, predominantly shades of purple, but white and pink varieties are also available. Photographed in Medellin, Colombia and Florida.
