Combretum constrictum
Combretum constrictum, is a woody climber native to tropical regions of East Africa. The floral displa produces clusters of densely packed red flowers characterized by long, radiating stamens that give them a spiky, spherical appearance. The plant often develops as a vigorous scrambling shrub or vine. Photographed in Florida.
