Red Columnea arguta flower with yellow markings and a green spiky sepal
Columnea arguta

Originating from the cloud forests of Central and South America this plant is best known for its ornamental appeal. The  Goldfish Plant has tubular, bright red-orange flowers that resemble leaping goldfish and prefers humid and cooler environments under filtered light. Looks good in hanging baskets where its trailing stems and vibrant blooms can be showcased to dramatic effect. Photographed in Medellin, Colombia.
