Coelogyne nitida
Coelogyne nitida is a cool- to intermediate-growing orchid native to the Himalayas, Nepal, Bhutan, and northern India, extending into parts of Southeast Asia. It typically inhabits elevations between 3300 and 6600 feet, thriving in moist, montane forests where it grows as an epiphyte. The species produces elegant, star-shaped flowers with narrow, white petals and sepals, contrasted by a broad, three-lobed lip marked with vivid yellow to orange ridges and highlights, giving the blooms a striking appearance. Photographed in Florida.
