Clerodendrum splendens

Originating from tropical Western Africa, the Flaming Glorybower has adapted to tropical and subtropical climates. It has a  twining evergreen nature, with woody stems that extend to a length of 10 to 12 feet, adorned by clusters of bright red flowers that are known to attract butterflies. Traditionally, in regions like tropical Africa, extracts from its leaves have been employed to remedy various ailments including fever, headaches, and stomach aches. Photographed in Minca, Colombia.
