Clerodendrum quadriloculare

Originating from the Philippines and New Guinea, the Shooting Star is a captivating tropical shrub known for its ornamental appeal. The Starburst plant showcases clusters of long white tubular flowers with a pink hue in some varieties, especially during winter when it’s in full bloom. The color of the flowers may vary slightly with pale pink to pink and white being the most common shades observed.

The shrub’s foliage too is striking with green leaves that have deep purple undersides, contributing to its ornamental value. Traditional medical significance, particularly in the roots which are believed to have several beneficial functions including soothing the liver, nourishing the kidney, and regulating menstruation among others.
