Chrysothemis pulchella (Sunset Bells)

Originates from the Central and northern regions of South America, extending its presence widely to the Caribbean south and Brazil.  Known for its vibrant floral display, Sunset Bells has a habit of flourishing in the moist slopes of tropical forests, usually found about 100 meters above sea level.  In cultivation, there are several forms known as 'Copper Leaf', 'Bronze Leaf', or 'Black Flamingo', exhibiting darker leaves. Photographed in Barranquilla, Colombia.
