Chrysobalanus icaco (Coco Plum)

Originating from tropical regions with a habitat below 2,000 feet. This species showcases a modest height, with its coastal ecotype reaching around six feet, while its inland ecotype can extend to about 20 feet. Its growth habit morphs from a low shrub to a bushy tree. The fruit is edible and can be mildly sweet or tasteless. Photographed in the department of Atlantico, Colombia.
