Centropogon solanifolius is a shrub native to the Andean regions of Colombia and Ecuador, producing clusters of elongated red tubular flowers, which can reach several inches in length and are arranged in a distinctive whorl. The flowers are a striking characteristic, with a vivid scarlet-red corolla and a tubular structure that extends into a narrow opening, often tipped by pale anthers.
