Centropogon loretensis

Centropogon loretensis is native to the Colombia and Ecuador. It is a shrub-like species that can reach several feet in height and produces dense clusters of tubular flowers that are strikingly red, sometimes with orange tinges at the base. The flowers of Centropogon loretensis are elongated, often curving downward, and terminate in a hairy, protruding style that emerges from the corolla. Photographed in Ecuador.
