Various parts of the plant are used for treating a myriad of ailments including, but not limited to, cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. Over the years, researchers have discovered a total of 344 compounds in this plant, testifying to its complex biochemical makeup and potential in pharmacology​.
