Caesalpinioideae (Unidentified Yellow-Flowered Tree) (species unidentified)
This legume subfamily includes trees, shrubs, and woody climbers distributed mainly across the tropics. Its members occupy rainforests, seasonally dry forests, and savannas. Leaves are usually divided into leaflets, while flowers vary from small blooms gathered in dense clusters to larger, showy flowers. Many species have leaf glands that supply nectar to ants. Bees pollinate most species. The fruits are seed pods, which may split open at maturity or remain closed. Photographed in Colombia.
