Cahuzacara Haleahi Sunbow
This perennial hybrid orchid was bred from Brassanthe Maikai and Rhynchobrassoleya Golden Tang. Its ancestry combines Brassavola, Cattleya, Guarianthe, and Rhyncholaelia. It produces clusters of star-shaped flowers with narrow cream-yellow petals and sepals and a broad white lip speckled with magenta. Like other orchids in the Cattleya alliance, it grows from a creeping rhizome with water-storing pseudobulbs, leathery leaves, and thick aerial roots. Photographed in Florida.
