
Brugmansia sanguinea (Blood-Red Angel's Trumpet)
A tree originating from the cool highlands of South America, from Colombia to northern Chile with a habitat between 7,000 and 12,500 feet.. Historically, indigenous peoples have utilized it to treat a variety of ailments including rheumatism, arthritis, sore throats, and stomach pains caused by parasitic worms. The plant contains the drug scopolamine, which can be used as a medicine or a recreational narcotic. The hallucinogen is also used for date rape and robbery leaving the victim with no recall of the crime. All parts of the plant are poisonous.
