Biophytum dendroides (Tree-Like Biophytum)

This perennial herb is native to areas from Mexico to Ecuador, thriving in wet tropical biomes like forest edges and riverbanks, primarily within altitudes of 295 to 2,953 feet. Tree-Like Biophytum leaves exhibit a sensitivity to touch, folding downwards when disturbed or as night descends. Photographed in the department of Quindio, Colombia.
