Originating from the biodiverse regions of Colombia and Venezuela, this distinctive plant showcases itself as an evergreen tree within the Capparaceae family. It's the solitary member of the monotypic genus Belencita. In its native territory, this species prefers the low-lying areas below 1,800 feet. Photographed in the department of Atlántico, Colombia.
