Hailing from the regions stretching from Mexico to Tropical America. Adaptability seems to be a trait of this species as it comfortably grows in a variety of habitats including forests, woodlands, savannas, shrublands, and inland wetlands. Photographed in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia.
