Argyreia nervosa (Hawaiian Baby Woodrose)
Native to the Indian subcontinent. This woody vine is characterized by its heart-shaped leaves and trumpet-shaped flowers in shades of pink. In some traditional practices, the seeds of this plant have been used for their psychoactive properties. The seeds contain natural compounds such as ergine and lysergic acid amide (LSA), which have similar effects to LSD, although less potent. These properties have led to the plant being used in shamanic rituals and spiritual ceremonies in certain cultures. Photographed in Miami, Florida
