Aloe arborescens (Torch Aloe)

Native to Southern Africa Aloe and often cultivated in drought-tolerant and xeriscaped gardens. The flower spikes can range in color from bright red to orange or yellow and are adorned with tubular flowers. The pulp has wound healing properties and the gel and latex inside the leaves have medical benefits and is applied to the skin. Photographed in Bogotá, Colombia.
