Perreiraara Tony Tan Keng Yam

Developed in cultivation from Bangkok Sunset and Vanda Wilas, this compact perennial hybrid orchid produces upright sprays of orange to reddish flowers. It belongs to the Vanda alliance and grows from a single continuing stem with aerial roots. The hybrid was named in honor of Singapore’s former president Tony Tan Keng Yam. Its compact growth and ability to flower on young plants have made it popular with orchid growers. Photographed in Florida.
