Achyrocline (species unidentified)

Native from Mexico through Central America into South America, this genus includes about forty-four species of perennial herbs and small shrubs. The flowerheads are narrow and cylindrical, with overlapping bracts surrounding a few tiny yellow flowers. Numerous heads gather into compact clusters on branching flowering stems. Many species have woolly hairs on their stems and foliage. Photographed in Colombia.
