Zapoteca andina

Native to the Andes of Ecuador and Peru, Zapoteca andina is a branching shrub with twice-divided leaves composed of many small leaflets. Rounded flower heads are formed by numerous tiny blossoms with very long stamens. The stamens are white near the tips and deepen to pink toward the center of the head. Photographed in Colombia.
