Wercklea insignis

Native from Costa Rica to Panama, Wercklea insignis is a shrub or small tree of humid tropical forest and forest margins. Large softly textured leaves surround conspicuous solitary flowers. Each flower forms a broad lavender-pink funnel with overlapping petals, a pale throat, and a central column of stamens. Photographed in Colombia.
