Trimezia spathata subsp. sincorana

Native to Bahia and Minas Gerais in Brazil, Trimezia spathata subsp. sincorana is a tuberous perennial herb of seasonally dry tropical vegetation. Narrow upright leaves accompany slender flower stems. Golden yellow blossoms have three broad outer tepals and smaller inner segments patterned with dark brown and pale markings around the central style branches. Photographed in Florida.
