Symphyotrichum oblongifolium

Native to central and eastern North America, Symphyotrichum oblongifolium is a bushy aromatic perennial of dry prairies, limestone glades, and rocky slopes. Lavender-blue rays surround yellow disks on flower heads produced in broad branching clusters. The narrow oblong leaves release a distinctive, strong balsam-like scent when crushed.
