Ruellia leucantha

Ruellia leucantha is a perennial herb native to Mexico. Opposite leaves grow along upright to spreading stems, and tubular flowers open with five pale spreading lobes around a narrow throat. The blossoms appear singly or in small groups near the upper foliage. This warm-climate species grows in open woodland and seasonally dry habitats and responds well to sunlight and freely draining soil. Photographed in Florida.
