Ruellia inundata

Ruellia inundata is a slender perennial herb native across parts of tropical America. Narrow opposite leaves line wiry stems, and small lavender to pale purple funnel-shaped flowers open from the upper nodes. The flowers have five spreading lobes and a narrow tubular base. The species occupies seasonally wet savannas, open grassland, and disturbed tropical ground where water levels fluctuate. Research-grade observations document it in Colombia and Panama.
