Rubus floribundus
Native to western South America, this scrambling Andean shrub has arching stems bearing prickles and compound toothed leaves, while broad clusters carry many white flowers with five spreading petals and numerous stamens. The edible aggregate fruits ripen to black and also provide food for birds. The species grows in montane forest edges, thickets, and disturbed slopes. Photographed in Colombia.
