Psiguria pedata single bright orange five petaled flower against dark green leaves

Psiguria pedata

Psiguria pedata is a tropical vine in the cucumber family, native to the Caribbean region. Tendrils help the plant climb through surrounding vegetation, while the leaves may be divided into several lobes or leaflets. Bright orange flowers have five broad petals and a compact central column. Separate male and female flowers are produced on individual plants, and mature female flowers develop into fleshy fruits containing numerous seeds. Photographed in Florida.
