Native to Belize, Bolivia, northeastern Brazil, northern Brazil, southeastern Brazil, and west-central Brazil and nearby regions, it is a vine in the Cucurbitaceae family. Documented elevations extend from about 66 to 5,900 feet. Its climbing or trailing stems carry foliage and flowers, sometimes grouped in conspicuous inflorescences. Photographed in Colombia.
