Pseudobombax ellipticum

Pseudobombax ellipticum is a deciduous tree native from Mexico through Central America. Thick branches support palmately divided leaves, which may fall before the flowering season. Large flowers open with narrow recurved petals and a dense brush of long pink to white stamens. The flowers are followed by woody capsules. Research-grade observations document the species in Panama.
