Dianthus Hybrids

Developed in cultivation, these flowering herbaceous plants are garden hybrids grown as annuals, biennials or short-lived perennials, depending on the variety and climate. Breeding has produced compact plants with abundant flowers in pink, red, purple, white and contrasting combinations. Many have fragrant blooms with fringed or toothed petals. Photographed in Colombia, Panama and Florida.
