A cluster of vivid red-orange orchid blooms with yellow throats, displayed on a green stem against a softly blurred garden background
Burrageara ‘Living Fire’

Burrageara ‘Living Fire’ is a striking hybrid orchid renowned for its vibrant red to orange blooms accented with yellow in the throat, producing a fiery display that inspired its name. This intergeneric hybrid belongs to the Oncidium alliance and was developed by crossing four orchid genera—Cochlioda, Miltonia, Odontoglossum, and Oncidium. The flowers typically form in sprays on arching or upright stems, each bloom measuring about 1.5 to 2 inches across, and can last several weeks in ideal conditions. The foliage consists of elongated, strap-like leaves arising from pseudobulbs, which store water and nutrients, enabling the plant to withstand brief periods of dryness. Photographed in Florida.
