Angraecum Eburneum
Native to Madagascar and other islands of the western Indian Ocean, this large epiphytic orchid thrives in humid, warm climates and is often found growing high in trees or occasionally as a lithophyte on rocks. Angraecum eburneum produces striking white flowers with a waxy texture, a three-lobed lip, and an exceptionally long nectar spur. The blooms are fragrant, especially at night. The plant forms dense clumps of robust, strap-like leaves arising from stout stems, and its inflorescences can bear numerous flowers at once. Photographed in Florida.
