Bignoniaceae (Trumpet-Vine Family) (species unidentified)
This plant belongs to a mainly tropical family of woody vines, shrubs and trees. Members usually have opposite, compound leaves and flowers with joined petals forming a tube. The flowers typically contain four fertile stamens and a fifth, sterile one. Many climbing members use tendrils formed from modified leaflets to grasp supports. Most species produce dry capsules containing winged seeds, while some relatives have fleshy fruits. Photographed in Colombia.
