The flowers are a striking characteristic, with a vivid scarlet-red corolla and a tubular structure that extends into a narrow opening, often tipped by pale anthers. Each cluster emerges from a compact green calyx base, forming several flowers together that extend outward in different directions Photographed in the department of Santander, Colombia.
