Santa Elena is a rural corregimiento located in the municipality of El Cerrito, in the Valle del Cauca Department of southwestern Colombia. It lies within the western foothills of the Central Andes and is part of the region known for sugarcane plantations, coffee farms, and cattle ranching.
The area sits at an elevation between 1,500 and 3,000 feet above sea level. Santa Elena is known for its agricultural traditions, local markets, and scenic countryside. It is often confused with another more famous Santa Elena near Medellín, but this version in Valle del Cauca offers a quieter, less commercialized rural Colombian experience. Visitors often pass through when exploring nature trails, birdwatching areas, and traditional haciendas in the region.
