Celosia argentea var. cristata
Originally native to India, this plant, is commonly referred to as cockscomb due to its flower's resemblance to a rooster's head. The long-lasting flower comes in colors of shades of yellow, orange, purple, red, and creamy white blooms lasting. Some varieties of cockscomb are cultivated for their cut flowers, which retain their bright colors even when dried. The leaves are edible. Photographed in Barranquilla, Colombia.
