Tequendama Falls, Colombia
Tequendama Falls, located about one hour southwest of Bogotá, Colombia, is notably polluted. The falls are fed by the Bogotá River, which carries untreated waste from the city that has depleted oxygen levels making it a "dead" river. The falls themselves are a dramatic sight, plunging from a height of 132 meters. The luxurious pink hotel ((Hotel del Salto) opened in the 1920s has been abandoned for over thirty years.
